HWW Member Organizations

Homöopathen ohne Grenzen e.V. Deutschland – HOG

The organisation HOG was founded 1997 with the beginning of the first project in Bosnia- Herzegovina. What started initially with 20 homeopaths has developed over the years up to round about 180 members most of them homeopaths (physicians and practitioners) but also midwifes, nurses, and lay people who support the organisation through their know how. HOG operates independently from any political, religious or economical interests.

Throughout our projects the main emphasis is laid upon sustainability.

Thus our missions, may initially start with a humanitarian aspect, in the long term though our focus lies upon homeopathic education of physicians, midwifes and medical stuff as well as lay people. Therefore our well-experienced homeopathic teaching team developed a special curriculum, which can be adapted to the special needs of each individual host- country we are working in.
So far projects were realised in Bosnia- Herzegovina, Togo, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Macedonia, and Iran. We are currently engaged in Bolivia, Kenya, Sri Lanka and Sierra Leone.

Homéopathes sans frontières France – HSF

Homeopaths Without Borders was founded in 1984 with the idea that additional therapies such as homeopathy, would allow caregivers to those countries to provide care to the poor in these countries, because of their effectiveness, their lack of toxicity and low cost. In fact, homeopathy has been proven in conditions that should no longer kill, such as infectious diarrhea in children.

In 1994, Homeopaths Without Borders has become Homeopaths Without Borders – France.

HSF-France works to his measure for access to care for all. Today we continue our efforts in four main areas:
– Training of caregivers in the southern countries
– Care for the poorest populations
– Support for development projects

Today, HSF-France is present in Benin and Burkina Faso where she provides education of homeopathy, as well as consultations with therapeutic and educational. This teaching is given, not only at the request of physicians and pharmacists, but also the demand for nurses, midwives, medical assistants often closer to the poorest populations.
Alongside the provision of such jurisdiction, HSF-France supports a development project in Burkina Faso, around the cultivation of moringa, to enable people to increase their livelihoods and achieve a better status Health
In Benin, we help a health center in increasing its offer homeopathic treatment to the poor population of the district where it operates through the training of caregivers to homeopathy and logistical support.

Rich in its 26 years, 300 members, 40 instructors and volunteers, HSF-France wants to promote this value that unites us: health is a right for all, especially for the poorest. Open to all access to care is our motto.

Homeopaten zonder Grenzen Nederland – HzG

Homeopaths without Borders Netherlands was founded in 1991 by enthousiastic homeopaths and homeopathic doctors. They have initiated projects in Benin, Bosnia, Kenia, Ghana, Uganda and Georgia.

From the first moment HzG has been training people such as doctors, midwives, nurses and specialist in areas that have no or very limited access to health care facilities so they can offer homeopathic treatment.

HzG uses the so called Training on the job model, which means that part of the training consists of treating people in clinics and (refugee-) camps. The best trainees will be educated to train new students, which makes the circle complete.
They will be able to work as independent homeopaths and can become member of the international organization.
HzG offers supervision and if necessary continued professional development.

Homéopathes autour du monde Suisse – HMSuisse

HMSuisse was founded in 2002 and is registered as an official not-for-profit-Association. It currently counts 240 members. Besides various activities in Switzerland, HMSuisse is mainly active in the following four projects:

1. The Gambia
The Gambia project is devoted to both treating people in need as well as training local people who have a medical background to become professional homeopaths. Currently four students are taking part in the training courses, which are held at regular visits of a Swiss team. These four committed students are to become the first homeopaths in The Gambia. In the future, they are planned to be disseminators for homeopathy in The Gambia, both in treating people as well as training groups of laypersons in first-aid treatment with homeopathy. Furthermore, local medicinal plants are planned to be transformed into homeopathic remedies.
HMSuisse works together with the local NGO “Gambian and Swiss Friends Association”.

2. Homeopathy for socially deprived people in Switzerland, HfA
The project “homeopathy for everyone” is the most recent project of HMSuisse and aims to offer homeopathy at a very low cost for socially deprived people in Switzerland, such as low-income families, refugees or marginalized groups who cannot afford health insurance that covers alternative medicine.

3. Niger / Tuareg
The first project of HMSuisse startet in the nigerian desert, in a Tuareg oasis called Iferouane, where it became clear, that homeopathy was very well received, even under these very different circumstances. A collaboration started with the local foundation “Educational and Cultural Centre Iferouane”. If the political situation in Niger allows for it, a Swiss team visits the project several times a year for further training courses and treatments.

4. Armenia
Based upon former projects, HMSuisse organizes since 2002 training courses for local homeopaths in Armenia. It is the goal of the project, that these trained homeopaths can treat people in the very remote villages, where medical treatment is rare. The project has established itself to an extent where the role of HMSuisse lies in accompanying these homeopaths with continuous trainings and material support.

From 2006 to 2008, HMSuisse was also active in treating survivors of the Tsunami in Sri Lanka. Since 2008, the project continues in the hands of the Swiss NGO “Natural Health Worldwide”.

Homéopathes sans frontière Madagascar – HSF

The HSF-Association was established in Madagascar in 1991 with the intention of delivering adequate health care to cover the needs of all people, especially to the poorest. HSF offers therapeutic alternatives and complementary treatment to conventional healthcare.

This association tries to help improve health and promote development, having chosen to work for access to health for all.
It is a humanitarian organization totally independent of any political, religious or philosophical persuasion.
Open to all including health professionals, HSF Madagascar respects the human dignity of all people receiving assistance.

Homeopathy is a very interesting system of medicine for Malagasy patients for the following reasons:
1. affordability of drugs in relation to the context of extreme poverty
2. the general socio-cultural orientation of the Malagasy people towards alternative medicine.

HSF Madagascar is especially active in the following areas: assistance to the most disadvantaged in emergency situations, long-term training, information, scientific research, co-operation with other healthcare professionals.

Currently there are twenty trainers in homeopathic medicine, more than one hundred doctors, pharmacists, dentists and veterinary graduates of homeopathy, fifty doctors still in training, and a few Malagasy doctors trained in osteopathy. Other activities include medicinal research and scientific conferences such as research on malnutrition, assistance to the needy through consultations and free treatment, public information and health education (audiovisual programs) on homeopathy and osteopathy.
