In July 2011 the Annual General Meeting of Homeopaths World Wide (HWW) was organized in Zurich.

HWW and Homeopaths without Borders Switzerland presented themselves in a symposium:

Homeopathy in Developing Countries – Studies and Experiences

Aba Eklu, a healer and homeopath from Togo and leader of the new Center for Integrative Medicine (ACPROSA) in the vicinity of Lomé asked critical questions about the integration of alternative medicine in Africa. The questions are particularly important for the members of HWW, who continued to discuss them during the break.

Stephan Baumgartner, MD, scientific researcher and teacher at the KIKOM (professional body for Integrative Health Care workers) of Bern University, elaborated on his experimental research into the effectiveness of homeopathic medicine. We hope to engage him in future symposia.

Felix Morgenthaler, vice-president of the HVS (Homeopathic professional body) entertained the public with his experiences in dealing with the media as a result of his article in the Swiss paper “Das Magazin”. He made an appeal to the homeopathic community to respond to attacks on homeopathy with humor, and to use it as an opportunity to reach a larger public.

Elisabeth von Wedel (chair of Homeopaths without Borders Germany) and Matthias Strelow (chair of HWW) talked about the benefits of intercultural learning. In their Master thesis they explore how efficiently both students and teachers have assimilated the teaching concepts in intercultural exchange of knowledge.

Frederic Rérolle, MD, chair of  HSF (Homeopaths without Borders France), presented the results of his study into the homeopathic treatment of side-effects of allopathic Malaria treatment. In co-operation with Boiron HSF studied the results of the homeopathic treatment of side-effects of Chinin-therapy in pregnant women. The treatment with China Officinalis showed significant results.

I would like to express my sincere gratefulness to HMSuisse for organizing this successful Symposium in Zurich.
